Japanese Food / Japanese Fusion Food Frugal Cheese Fondue using Mochi January 16, 2021 / by Junko （日本語の文章は英文の下にあります） We will be continuing to use leftover mochi in this episode. This may be an unexpected twist, but Kei will be using mochi in her cheese fondue! Adding mochi is a way you can keep the volume but use less cheese, so it’s economical (especially since cheese is expensive in Japan!) The mochi adds extra stretch to the cheese, and does not make the cheese taste like mochi. I got hooked when I made the trial version and made it for myself again the next day. I’m sure you’ll be wanting to make it over and over again! Junko There are so many Japanese dishes and cultures that are not well known outside of Japan and I’m happy to introduce them to you!
