Lessons / Kids Classes Kids Cooking Class – Totoro Buns August 01, 2021 / by Junko （日本語の文章は英文の下にあります） Our first kids’ baking lesson in English with 7 cute elementary children! We made Totoro buns and 2 savory buns with corn & mayo, tuna & mayo fillings. The children made bread dough and cookie dough (for Totoro’s stomach and eyes) from scratch, and they all did a great job kneading and shaping the dough and decorating Totoro. Although none of the children spoke English, most of them knew easy words so we hope they learned some new vocabulary during the lesson! The youngest 2 (both boys) were so energetic! They would run around during break, have pillow fights, etc., while the girls quietly conversed with each other. It was interesting to watch the difference! The buns turned out nicely and they wanted to eat them right away, but they all were able to wait until their moms came to pick them up so that they could show their moms. Everyone was so cute, and this lesson was a great experience for us, too!
