Event : Boys’ Day Party

May 5th is Children’s Day (also called ‘Tango no sekku’ – Boys’ Festival), one of the Japanese seasonal holidays, and we are going to make some traditional dishes for the day.

Let’s enjoy tasty ‘Chimaki’ (Rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves) and freshly harvested ’Sansai’ (mountain vegetable) Tempura and ‘Kashiwa mochi’ (Rice cakes wrapped in oak leaves).

You can also try wrapping Chimaki and making samurai helmets out of a sheet of paper to wear!
