Osechi (Japanese New Year’s Dishes) November 30, 2021 / by Junko Celebrate Japanese New Year with our delicious collection of Osechi recipes! It is our tradition that we prepare dishes for the Gods on New Year’s Eve and enjoy the meal on New Year’s Day with the whole family. This meal is called “Osechi / Osechi Ryori”. At JJ Kitchen’s osechi lesson, you will learn how to make easy & delicious osechi dishes and how to plate them nicely! Kobumaki (kombu kelp rolls with beef) Decorative cut kamaboko (fish cake) Namasu (pickled daikon radish and carrots) Datemaki (rolled sweet omelette) Chikuzenni (stewed chicken and vegetables) Ozoni (New Year’s soup with rice cakes) Yuzu sherbet & Green tea Junko There are so many Japanese dishes and cultures that are not well known outside of Japan and I’m happy to introduce them to you!
