Kawazu Sakura Festival

‘Kawazu-zakura (河津桜)’, early-blooming cherry trees @Kawazu, Shizuoka prefecture🌸🌸🌸
Kawazu-zakura starts blooming earlier than other types of cherry trees and lasts longer (for about a month).

Kawazu Sakura Festival takes place in February and lasts until the middle of March.
This cherry blossoms have deeper pink in color. Absolutely breathtaking!

You will find rows of cherry trees line up approximately 4km along the river and many food stalls.
We enjoyed the beautiful blossoms so as well with the yummy local food 😋

‘Taiyaki’ (fish-shaped cake with red bean filling).

Baked ‘Sakura mochi’ (rice cake)

It takes about 2.5 hours from Tokyo by train but well worth the journey!
